Default Restorations in NZ

Hi all -

Auto Restorations in Christchurch NZ was my first choice to restore my Frazer Nash for the Frazer Nash club "raid" to NZ in 2005, but they were fully booked when I called them early in 2004. The next recommendation, Leitch Motorsport in Invercargill (not the end of the world, but you can almost see it from there), accepted the project and completed it wonderfully.

I had a tour of Auto Restorations by Bill Clarke at the end of the raid and it is an impressive, well-organized business. I just looked at their website and their completed projects (http://www.autorestorations.co.nz/ou...ed/gallery.htm) are even more impressive.

I'll endorse New Zealand as a mecca of craftsmanship - on my last visit, we happened upon the Croydon Aircraft Factory (http://www.croydonaircraft.com/) not far from Gore. There was a nearly-opened museum with many completed aircraft and a large hangar with about 6 all-wood aircraft being restored or re-created. I've attached 2 photos.

Bob (planning for the next NZ trip now in progress!)
