GFE 1005 and these still seem to be available, usually at a similar price to the Inline Filters offering.

I rebuilt my 403 carbs myself using parts from Gower and Lee. The parts were purchased by the previous owner in 2001, but Gower and Lee are still around and seem to be knowledgable on classic Solex....

That certainly explains it! And the tank doesn't have to have much water in it before the pickup pipe is seeing it. You will want to work out how the water got there in the first place...
