I think that it did not remain constant for every car of a given model. I had a bit of a hunt for my 408, and found some 408s have Rootes locks, which twist to open, but mine had a push button lock shared with a Daimler Dart.

Reviving this old thread as I am also trying to find a boot lock for a 410. My lock is the Daimler Dart type (push mechanism). It seems that I am missing an interior piece, since the lock barrels turns freely, with or without a key.
Does anyone have a contact for a replacement Dart lock (they seem to be unbelievably difficult to source) or - even better- pictures of the internal parts of their locks? Thanks |

Yours looks like the one attached? I don't have a picture of this dissembled I'm afraid.
You have to take off the panel at the back of the back of the boot to access it. The lock and catch mechanism looks like this: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...atch-161249877 I bought a catch from Bryan Purves - Home - Bryan Purves - so he may also be able to sell you a new lock? I don't know without taking it apart whether you can get a new barrel. |
