Default Hubcap centre emblem needed

Hi everyone

I wonder if any of you can help,
I have a customers Bristol in and one of the jobs is re chroming. I have good hubcaps that can be chromed but I'm missing a centre emblem, as in the attached picture.
I wondered if anyone had one I could buy?
Or
Knew of anywhere where I could get one?
Or
Know if they were used on any other make of car?
Many thanks
Steve

Default Hub cap emblem

Hi Steve,

I have only seen this emblem on 407’s like mine.
I suggest you contact Graeme at Bristol Parts as quite a few must have been made and nor many 407’s are running in the UK.
I suspect if they are not on a 407 then they have been replaced and a set of 4 for a 405/6 would hit.Best of luck.

Thanks
Yes it's a 407.
So they are the correct centres. I suppose that's the trouble with being a fairly rare car.

I can't help with a source other than, as said, try Graeme but, FYI, my 408 has those on it.

A decent replacement could be made quite quickly in resin with 50% aluminium powder. I have done this for the later V8 hub cap badges to surprisingly good effect. A silicone mould will make dozens without loss of definition.
If you are interested I can jot down a step by step guide.

Thanks

Yes that would be an option but plating the resin would be a problem. Yes I could get the resin metalised "plastic chromed" but I fear it's life would be limited being outside.

My other option is to machine one from brass and get it chromed, but both options are time consuming and so relatively expensive for my customer so if I can find a usable second hand original I figure it will be the cheapest and easiest option.

Different when it's for a customer but you would be surprised just how well they come up. I made my badges over 20 years ago. They very occasionally get a buff up with a fibreglass pencil and still look pretty good. If polished up and clear coated I think they would be hard to tell apart from the one in your picture unless you were on your hands and knees.
