It is not uncommon for petrol to weep from the threaded inlet of the AC fuel pump. Why is this? The inlet adaptor is 1/4 BSPP coned x 1/8 NPT i.e. the female thread in the pump casting is American....

I used a good quality spray engine enamel/ceramic by Dupli-Color.
Stripped to bare metal with ordinary "hardware store" paint stripper.
Chemical stripper may oxidise the surface, but doesn't matter...

The carbon disc - cast iron (impeller) seal has stood the test of time. I must have been thinking of the BOCA bronze impeller which is used with the ceramic disc.
